It’s no secret I am often on the hunt to be inspired. I always thought because I didn’t have an older sibling to look up to, not even an older cousin, I turned to the people I saw on the TV or Internet. Here is a list of people that I really look up to, some might even say idolize.
Jim Carrey
Growing up and having aspirations to be an actor, Jim Carrey was someone I really looked up to. I was obsessed with his movies and I wanted to make people laugh and feel silly the way he did.

Alex Cooper
I’m actually a huge Call Her Daddy fan. I’ve always appreciated her extreme authenticity and how far her brand has come. I used to listen back in the older days and even though it was raunchy, I loved listening to a woman who had the power. It was a perspective, I had never considered. I’ve followed her journey since she used to vlog in her tiny NYC apartment that she could barely afford. I am obsessed with people, specifically women, building massive empires for themselves.

Rich Roll
If you know me, this one is a no brainer. When I read Finding Ultra, I felt instantly connected to this him. He has such a unique, complicated journey that makes him the compassionate and understanding interviewer that he is today.
Watch/ Listen: Alcoholic Lawyer That Became "Fittest Man On The Planet"
Lucy Davis
I’m a sucker for a woman who went through something tough and came out stronger on the other side. She’s an incredible athlete juggling multiple businesses and I’m inspired by her all the time. I love watching her videos and it does really inspire me to work as hard as I can.

Danielle Brandon
Watching her documentary will give you all the information you need to know. A 6x Crossfit Games Athlete who came from a ROUGH childhood and has an insane work ethic. Even if you know nothing about Crossfit, this doc is worth the watch.

Tia Toomey
I have watched all the Crossfit documentaries and even though I don’t participate in the sport I am so deeply inspired to the core. I have cried so many times watching those damn things. Tia is very obviously the fittest woman on earth. Watching her determination even after having a baby lights me on fire.

My Mom
Of course I have to add my mom to this list!!! My mom found herself to be a single mom at the age of 32 with a one year old. Within that same year, her mother passed away from cancer. She worked her ass off to put food on the table and a roof over my head. She managed to be present for every recital or play and even would take off work sometimes to come on field trips. I had no understanding of it when I was younger but the older I get the more I admire her for how she held it all together. She provided an incredible example of independence and resilience growing up. I love you Mom!
Kris Rugloski
Kris is an OCR athlete, a Hyrox World Champ, and an ultra runner. Since the moment I found out who she was I have admired her and been moved by her and her approach to fitness. She truly enjoys moving to her core. She’ll run 100 miles all with a smile on her face. Kris didn’t have a sports background at all and as soon as she found running fell immediately in love. I am lucky to know her. She’s known for her extremely positive outlook on life and racing.

Paige Desorbo & Hannah Berner
Paige: I love a girl who gets more successful, wiser, and better after a break up. She’s been underestimated several times in her life and look at her now! Love her, obsessed with her, I don’t care what you say #teamPaige
Hannah: Another girl who is so authentically herself. I love women who are willing to make a full of themselves and be vulnerable. It gives other people permission to do the same.

ALL GUUD THINGS THIS WEEK
❤️ What We’re Grateful For ❤️
Nikki: I’m really grateful for my parents. I’ve been calling them more often since being home last and I love talking to them and spending time with them even if we can’t be close. I know how fortunate I am that I have such a good relationship with them and that they’re still here, and it’s not something I’m taking for granted.
Lauren: I feel so loved! Especially grateful for Nikki who really made me feel celebrated over the weekend. Over the past year I’ve spent a lot of time grieving over the people I’ve lost and I’ve (almost) forgot to celebrate those who love me and support me. I felt truly so so celebrated and loved. It was a pinch me moment for sure.
💭 What We’re Reminding Ourselves 💭
Lauren: You will figure it out. Whatever ‘it’ is. One step at a time. Take action and believe you are capable.
Nikki: This is probably a whole future post in itself, but I am so worthy of love. For so long I thought I had to give up so much of myself to deserve it, or I had to hold on so tightly or else I’d lose it. And while there are definitely still days that I struggle with this, I’ve never felt more at peace with who I am and what I bring to the table.
🏆 What We’re Proud Of 🏆
Nikki: I somewhat chaotically organized a little celebration for Lauren but I’m so proud of making her feel special 🥹 I love her and our friendship and how we’ve gone through highs and lows together and have had tough conversations. It’s been one of the most important relationships in my life.
Lauren: This is kind of silly but I’m so proud how clean I’ve kept my new apartment! I’m obsessed with where I live now and have known to be a messy girl but i’m rebranding baby.
❤️🩹 What We’re Struggling With ❤️🩹
Lauren: I have a lot to think about when it comes to training and what I want to pursue. It has me at a crossroads. I can’t tell if I truly love training for Hyrox or the validation and respect that comes from it. I love racing that’s forsure but with the amount I have sacrificed for it and how much more work I have to be good at it I’m not sure that I can juggle it all and work. We’ll see! Focusing on journaling and asking myself all the questions.
Nikki: I’ve had a little cold this week, which is annoying since I was just sick. Definitely impacted my training and energy levels but grateful to be in a headspace where
🎧 What We’re Watching/Listening To 🎧
Nikki: My icebreaker for my class last week was “It’s 2008. What’s your ringtone?” and ever since I’ve been blasting mine.
What was yours?
Lauren: 4am by 2 Chainz - played this in one of my Barry’s classes and it’s such a classic.
🧢 What We’re Wearing 🧢
Lauren: Brady Kehoe hates this perfume I wear but I love it: Juliette Has a Gun - Not a Perfume
Nikki: In a last minute desperate push to get outfits for my first music festival next weekend, got this pair of shorts from Pacsun!
😍 What We’re Obsessed With 😍
Nikki: I really don’t want it to get too popular so I’m hesitant to talk about it but I’m obsessed with Lauren’s Lift classes at Barry’s. I haven’t really figured out a good gym routine with this new job yet, but I’ve been going to Lauren’s 6PMs on Tuesdays and Thursdays and my glutes and hammies are sore for days! Love her programming and her playlists and it’s fun getting to see her do what she does best :)
Lauren: I’m obsessed with lifting and eating clean these days. It feels guuuuud.
✨ What We’re Looking Forward To ✨
Lauren: I’m looking forward to not worrying about hours of training on the weekends. I want to enjoy some mountain time and time with my friends and maybe even an espresso martini or two!
Nikki: Bonnaroo next weekend! I’m a little nervous about it since I’ll be sooo out of my element but I’m going with the best company and I’m grateful for new experiences 🥰
