“Vision boards (also sometimes called dream boards) are a visualization tool that can be used for long-term planning and to motivate you to achieve major life goals. You can create a vision board with photos, drawings, magazine clippings, and other scrapbooking materials; you can also make them online. A vision board can be focused entirely around one specific goal or could visualize several different goals.”
— Dedra Weigman, “The Science Behind Vision Boards and How They Lead to Greater Success”
I had never made a vision board before December 31 of this past year. I felt like it was important for me to be more specific with the vision of my future. Not because I expect my life to go to according to that plan perfectly, but because I understand the power of focus. The more that we focus on the things we want to achieve, the people we want to be, and the way we want to feel, the more likely that will come true. Below are small pieces of my vision board (with very little context, keeping some things close to the chest). I made a work/ fitness board and a separate life/future board.

ALL GUUD THINGS THIS WEEK
❤️ What We’re Grateful For ❤️
Nikki: I have this core group of girlfriends from college (specifically, from our professional engineering fraternity 🤓) that I’m obsessed with. I’ve known them for over 12 years now and although I’m historically pretty bad at keeping up with people, every time I see them, it’s like no time has passed. I’m so grateful for them and the way we have grown and continue to grow together!
Lauren: Once again my mom has made it to the top of my grateful list. Ily mom
💭 What We’re Reminding Ourselves 💭
Lauren: This season of chaos is temporary.
Nikki: Other people’s perception of me is outside of my control. I’m trying to be less of a people pleaser and not care as much when it seems like someone doesn’t like me.
🏆 What We’re Proud Of 🏆
Nikki: Less spiraling about decisions I make!
Lauren: I almost quit my long run yesterday because it was SO hot. Which was my fault since I started at noon. I am proud I powered through. Each time I do, I feel like I get just a little stronger.
❤️🩹 What We’re Struggling With ❤️🩹
Lauren: I’m struggling with managing how to carve space to enjoy life a little bit more.
Nikki: I’ve been teaching semi-privates at Commit for the past two years now and I’m bittersweetly dropping all of my classes. Coaching gives me so much joy, and I truly am so invested in so many of my regular clients. I’ll still be at Commit — come by 3:30PM on Fridays to catch up!
🎧 What We’re Watching/Listening To 🎧
Nikki: I’ve been watching the NBA Semifinals??? Well, just the Nuggets and the Knicks. The games have been so exciting, remembering why people are so obsessed with sports.
Lauren: I just started The Last Dance Episode 1! I’ve never seen it before so I’m looking forward to it.
🧢 What We’re Wearing 🧢
Lauren: I made Nikki and I matching Guud necklaces for the launch/ her birthday on October 21. I haven’t taken it off since!
^I loooove my Guud necklace 🥹 - Nikki
Nikki: I really liked my dress for my friend Neha’s wedding this past weekend! I bought it directly from her Pinterest board.
😍 What We’re Obsessed With 😍
Nikki: Being in New York. Just walking around the city, running the West Side Highway, being close to my family and my friends. It’s always so tempting to move back.
Lauren: I’m not huge on skincare but I recently treated myself to a sample size of the the Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer and it is my absolute favorite.
✨ What We’re Looking Forward To ✨
Lauren: My mom is coming in town this weekend to help me move! I’m looking forward to getting settled in my new place. A fresh start.
Nikki: As much as I’m loving being in NY/NJ, I’m excited to see friends in Denver again and get my space cleaned and routines dialed before a big change coming 👀
